Limit an alert rule to servers.
Alerts › rules. Type sits at the top of a new rule. Server, workstation, laptop, network device, hypervisor, printer, or other. Several ticked means any of those.
Tick server
Open Alerts › rules and press + rule. Under type, tick server. Leave the others clear. The line under the tags says the rule covers servers in this company. Accounts server is a server. Reception PC, the branch router, and the spare laptop are not, so they stay off this rule. None ticked still means every type.
Add who is told, then read the sentence
Press add contact. The grey sentence is the rule in plain words: this address, warning and above, on the servers. Press add rule when that sentence is the one you want. This shot stops before that. Kinds left empty means every kind. A tag such as site/Melbourne narrows it further. Tell someone when a machine needs attention is the same editor with no type ticked.
